With the death of Osama bin Laden this past week, I thought it a time for reflection on the events that inalterably changed our <\/a>nation almost a decade ago.<\/p>\n

Mr. Caat had a childhood friend perish on that day, a Port Authority Officer by the name of “Bruce Reynolds<\/a>“, who gave his life trying to save others. <\/p>\n

I have been fortunate enough to connect with him and his mother, who is now also in spirit, on a couple of different occasions, while doing mediumship readings. <\/p>\n

This poem is for him and all those like him. <\/p>\n

IN MEMORY OF HEROS<\/strong><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t know him,
\n\tBut I know his name.
\nLike the thousands of other names on the list,
\n\tHe had a story.<\/p>\n

He cared, he loved,
\n\tHe laughed, he cried.
\nHe was the innocent child,
\n\tWho grew up to be a man;
\nA man respected, a man admired,
\n\tWho didn\u2019t have to go, but did.<\/p>\n

In the smoke and haze,
\n\tOne by one,
\nHe helped them out of disaster,
\n\tBack to safety in the arms of their families,
\nThen turned around to do it all over again.<\/p>\n

His father planted flowers in a garden for him,
\n\tHe hopes they will bloom by spring.
\nIt would be appropriate for this child,
\n\tTurned into a man,
\nAnd that man, who turned into a hero.<\/p>\n

For us, who never knew him,
\n\tBut heard the stories of his youth,
\nOur hearts cry, for this man turned hero,
\n\tAnd all those like him,
\nWho died in the line of duty,
\n\tOn one September day…
\n\t\tOne very dark September day…<\/p>\n

In the year so many are relieved to have passed,
\n\tThe year that changed the world…
\n\t\tThe year that changed our lives…
\n\t\t\tThe year that took so many heros…
\nNext spring, a flower will bloom.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
