If you would like some practice, I would love for you to have a chat with my horse, Backflash.
Better known as "Flash", he is a 4 year old Thoroughbred gelding.

Some questions if you would like some to start you off:

- What do you like to do when ridden?
- How do you feel about your current barn? Likes and dislikes?
- What animals live with you?
- How do you feel about the horses next door?

I am happy to verify anything he tells you, and am very interested in hearing what he has to say.

Thanks in advance!

I was just scrolling through and saw your post, KLou, and have to ask, who is on the right? Because Flash didn't jump out at me wanting to talk, but the horse on the right certainly did. I know his/her ears are up in the picture, but it's not that--I feel like in the picture he's reaching for a treat or what he thinks is a treat or something--but he just seems to want to chat more than Flash. (Not saying Flash is antisocial--he might be very willing to talk if you ask, I don't know, I didn't try yet--just the other horse kind of jumped forward.)

Also, where are you located?

Flash told me that there was a place he liked to go to, said that there were lots of yellow flowers and a stream with a footbridge going across it. He said there was also another place with a white fence on one side, and the other a very tall metal screen gate. They both met up and encased a yard in the place that I saw.

Let me know how accurate this is. :)

Hmm, there is a field next to his with a stream and a footbridge though Flash has never been in it. On the other hand; we have gone to a trail system near us that has a few different footbridges as well as a field with flowers in it - can't remember if they were yellow or not but we do have a lot of buttercups and dandelions in our area! He did seem to enjoy this area, I wonder if that's it.

Trying to think of the white fence and metal screen place but I am scratching my head. Could be that this place is somewhere from before I had him; or perhaps I will suddenly see this place and have an "aha" moment - in that case I will definitely let you know!

Beautyistruth: The dark horse is Tofino, a 5 year old Thoroughbred gelding. You are more than welcome to try chatting with him if you like, he is not mine so I can't guarantee I will be able to verify everything you tell me but I know him quite well.

That would be great. ^_^

Also, I followed up with Flash. He said that the footbridge he mentioned he had never gone on, as he would have fallen off and it wasn't meant for horses, but he has seen it often. He says that somewhere near the footbridge - I want to say a little to the right - is a dirt road or path, on one side (or perhaps both) there is a wooden fence. The path goes over the hill, and if you were to head back before the footbridge you would see the field with the yellow flowers. On the path there is an oak or perhaps elm tree that is very big and sort of bends over it.

Also, he says that the white fence and metal screen one aren't actually crossing, they are near each other though. He says the white fence is a fence for a dog, and something about a guitar - perhaps the dog's owner plays guitar, wheras the metal fence is for a baseball field that is close to this dog's house. I also kept getting images of a brown wooden fence and a white house with a back porch - I'm thinking it might be near the white fence?

The path he says he goes on often and isn't from his past, but he says the dog is - I'm not sure if he means the dog has died or he has moved, but he told me the white house is over a hill and he can sort of see it from where he is.

I know this is a lot of info, but let me know how accurate it is. :)

The footbridge in the field next to Flash's is for horses, but sounds a lot like the one you are describing. There is a field behind it that has yellow flowers, and next to the bridge is a large willow tree that takes up a lot of space and kind of bends over both the path and a pond that is there. Flash has never been in that field so hasn't crossed the bridge, perhaps he is scared that he would fall off if he tried?

The second place you are describing is almost spot-on to the old place I used to board him. He was in a huge field that at the end near the gate had a tall mesh metal (chain link) fence. To the left of that field there was a run for the owners dogs - of course I can't remember if the fence was white or not, but it very well could be. Their house was white and had a small porch on the back (that could be seen from the field he was in). Unsure about the baseball field part - there is one just down the road from that place, but Flash was never taken near it. Perhaps he could have learned about the baseball field from the dog(s)? I am sure their owner would have taken them there.

Do you mean that he can see the white house from where he is right now? In that case it wouldn't be the old place, though there are a few white houses nearby his new place. I will take a look and see if anything strikes me as familiar from what you've said.

Thanks for chatting with him.  ;D

I'm editing this to add this part in, a few hours after I have posted what is above:

When turning in the horses this evening I walked out into Flash's paddock and turned to face the road - lo and behold, what is his view? The wooden fence which surrounds his paddock and behind the wooden fence, our neighbour's white house that has a porch on the back.

Yes I wasn't really sure about the auntie thing either, I'll need to talk to her later about that. Keep an eye out with ladies in blue aprons and shopping carts, haha.
