Hi greypalomino and kckellsbells,

I have been trying (not to try!) and connect with your guys.  I haven't had much luck yet, but I'd like to continue.  I kept getting a picture of Moon as a lean, sort of leggy guy, but not super tall, almost looking a little Thoroughbred-ish than boxy QH, but wasn't sure if this was accurate or if I was actually getting a slight picture of another horse I know.  I'm going to an animal communication workshop in February and I'd love to bring them with me (pictures from here, names) to practice if it's alright with you all, and then let you know what I've come up with.  In the mean time I'm still going to continue (not) trying!  Thanks!
Who are you taking your workshop with?

There are a couple of workshops coming up soon in my area.  The first one is with a local woman named Karen Daley, she's offering a day long workshop.  She's an animal communicator and reiki practitioner.  The second one is a day long workshop with Danielle MacKinnon and the third workshop is with Lila DelMonte and it's a two day workshop.  I think I'm going to do the first one with Karen Daley because it is relatively inexpensive, but I'm not sure about the other two (doing one or the other, not both) because they're more expensive.  I've read books by Marta Williams, Penelope Smith, Margrit Coates and now I'm not sure if I just need to let my journey begin with finding "it" or if the workshops would offer me more instruction than trying to do it myself.  I sometimes think that my gifts will present themselves when I'm ready, regardless of what I try to do to make it happen, and if my path allows for animal communication it will come, whether or not I try to keep "learning" it.  I'm curious to see if others have found workshops helpful?

Y'know, workshops never hurt. It's not so much that you will learn more than is in any of the books you have, but it's the idea of sort of being forced into doing it and gaining confidence. I do think the problem with a lot of workshops is that they are so expensive some people can't afford them.

I also think, however, that the best way to learn anything is to just make a decision to do it and then, just like you're doing here -  do it! ;) I realized that I've started a lot of things that way. I think you'll find that you've actually been doing it well all along. ;)

Let us know how the workshop goes.

It seems like everyone has a slightly different way of connecting with the animals, and I've been trying a little bit of all that I come across, but wondered if I was actually trying to much of what others are doing, and not so much of what I'm doing, (even though I haven't quite figured that part out yet!).   I haven't been to a workshop yet so I think it will be good to see what it's like, it will be nice to be able to focus on it for the day.   Thanks for the support, Caat!

PS- I think Red should offer a workshop after reading his post with Beautyistruth!

I think he might if we put that to him, Birds Eye--or at least a series of lectures. We were throwing that idea around after last time. I'd be willing to work with him again, or anyone else could as well...

Hi Grey Palomino, I am just slowly reading, catching up on all the info on the AC site and today read your posts...Im so sorry about your son. You are so brave, this must be one of the most difficult anyone has to ever deal with and I am so glad your horse Hearty was there for you.
Best wishes and thoughts to you
Marlene

ps...if you're able to talk to hearty, could you please tell him Thank You for being there for me, the day i went out and completely fell apart.  that was the day that i was told my 8 yr old son would soon die.

Hello again Grey Palimino

I tried to talk to your boy Hearty today...when I first opened to him a got a rush of kindness, compassion, ie. that he was such a kind, warm individual. I explained I was learning communication and had heard that his mum would be glad if someone relayed a message to him. But I asked him first if there was anything he wanted to say or ask...I just got a lovely feeling about him and kept "getting" his eyes. Then I  started to get a sense of him feeling "cut off", isolated and 2 horses in rugs and a very strong image of rich, green grass as if it was something yearned for...I tried to understand the gist of what I was feeling and it felt as he was cut off physically and emotionally from you and the outdoors (for extended periods at least). I expect its very cold there and he might be indoors (I got "barn") and that because of the weather and also the situation re your son you were not maybe able to be with him as much at the moment..I think he may have been feeling a bit helpless and frustrated at this,as if he couldnt "reach" you to help you as much as he wanted, but I cant be sure. But thinking this may be the case, I started talking (and I hope I wasnt barking up the wrong tree with what I said. ie. I hope I hadnt misread what I sensed he was feeling) I basically said, Hearty, I sense you are such a kind man and no doubt wish you cld do more for your human mum, and her son..I also imagine you may be frustrated because she is not around as much at the moment, and you are enclosed a lot to protect you from the cold weather and dont get near her as much  and you cant cheer her up as much in a physical way eg gently nibble her hand, give her a gentle nudge, rest your head on her shoulder.I know how much such gestures can mean to people and how welcome they are especially when one is going through a hard time,...and this is actually what she wanted someone to say to you- how grateful she was for you being there the day when she fell apart at having received some very difficult info about her son. It seems you helped her so much that day, which is really beautiful. Please dont ever underestimate what a few simple gestures can do- I live with felines / cats and a smile from them, a wink or a brush of the tail can sometimes make a huge difference to my day, so please know Im sure every gesture and thought you send her way is helping her and making a difference. And I am sure she is grateful for these too.
On  more practial level, I also said "hang in there, this cold wont last for ever and one day youll be back out in the open again or lots more  and able to roll around in the lovely grass again..."

I thanked him for his time and say bye and maybe it would be alright if I chatted to him again at some stage..?

I hope this is helpful in some way Palomino and was accurate, at least generally...
and i also hope you have lots of support around you at the moment

bes wishes
Marlene
