Yup!  A walrus.  (Sorry Meg. ;))

Anyone want to take a guess (no peeking on the internet) what we might learn from walruses?  Think about what they are, what they do, how they move.  What might we learn from them?

ok, here's a guess.  When I see the walrus, I think of stability and adaptability.  He's heavy so he can't just fly off with the wind, yet he can be both in water and on land.  I also think of someone who stands their ground and maintains their space against intrusion yet is able to coexist with many other walruses on the same large piece of land.

I know from what shows I've seen of them that when they come to mating, it's all competition. The female chooses the one with the best vocals (and largest body size). Maybe we have to learn to work for what we want?

Oh, I love that.  It's not on any of the things I've found, but I think it absolutely fits.  I think what you are calling adaptable, others call "ingenuity."  The Walrus has ingenious ways of surviving in the ways that he feeds himself and such.  And I think what you're calling stable, other people call "social" and "connected to the earth."

I think this is a great example of how reading, whether the tarot, or animal spirits or whatever, is not a "by the book" sort of thing.  It's how we interpret those things through intuition.  I think you're right on the money about how to use walrus energy.

You are so right about the male/female thing.  Walruses are very social and hang in herds, but males and females form separate herds!  (I wonder if football is involved.) ;)  And you are right about competition, walruses are not only very gregarious and social but they assert their dominance in those social groups.  It's very Darwinian.

Nice job, both!  cs:)  I'll post the meanings soon.

Walrus: Physical closeness, social dominance, paying attention.
Use walrus energy when you feel the need for more physical affection, and when you need to be more aware of your physical surroundings.
