Animal Communication Book Recommendations

Listed in order of recommendation:

I loved this book.  It is a great "first book" with exercises about how to get started in learning how to communicate with other species. While Carol's is laid out very nicely,  this book is first on my recommendation list because of it's easy style and exercises.


2. The Language of Animals: 7 Steps to Communicating with Animals: http://snurl.com/1wf4gb
While I don't agree with Carol Gurney's insistence that there is no psychic element to speaking with animals (telepathy is telepathy, no matter how you use it), there is no doubt that "7 Steps to Communicating with Animals" is a  straight-forward and clear cut introduction to animal communication.

She deliniates different aspects in different chapters, from behavioral problems to lost animals to death and dying.

3. Animal Talk: Interspecies Telepathic Communication: http://snurl.com/1wf4jf
Penelope Smith is one of the forerunners of Animal Commuinications.   Animal Talk is an easy read and it covers great introductory information.  Whereas Marta and Carols' books are written from a more grounded perspective, Penelope explores the topic in a little more etherial way.

Hi, on Books for animal communication I would highly recommend, "Straight from the Horse's Mouth" by Amelia Kinkade.  She give lots of exercises on how to communicate and her stories of communicating not only with cats and dogs but zoo animals too are wonderful.  She has a great sense of humor and her writing syle in very intelligent and insightful.

Well, I thought I had purchased "Straight from the Horse's Mouth" by Amelia Kinkade online, but then was notified (Chapters/Indigo) that it wasn't available.   

Did receive "Kinship with All Life" J. Allen Boone, and Marta William's "Learning Their Language".  The first is a very fast read, but wonderful!  Written in the 50's.  Not a "how to" sort of book, but a description of the author's experiences learning that he could communicate with different animals.  I liked that he didn't go into too much detail about their lives (or their deaths, 'cause I'm a sap); he just moved on to a different species or experience. 

Marta's book is definitely a "How to..."  She has included exercises and photos of her animals for practise.  I'm not finished it, yet, but am enjoying it and finding it helpful.

Yes, Marta's book is wonderful. I haven't read Kinship with all Life, but I do think I remember Amelia's book being somewhat a 'how to.' I think her writing style is a little slower than Marta's. I know some people who really like that book, but for me, it just a little slower than I like to read. There was some great info in there, I just think I didn't connect with the style.
